There was a misunderstanding, you see, and…:
What began as an innocent mistake ended in a vicious attack on a local honor student.
Police said as many as 11 students beat up the eighth-grader leaving him severely injured, and he may even lose his sight…
The incident near a school soccer field was so violent that 13-year-old David Muneton needed reconstructive surgery to his face to correct several broken bones.
The little thugs have been suspended, but I hope they’re eventually expelled and, at the very least, locked up for a bit and made to pay some sort of restitution to cover some of that kid’s medical bills. I don’t know what is going on in these homes and with these children, but my God. I know feathers are ruffled when schools are criticized, but honestly it must take a lot of faith some days to put a child on a bus and send them off to one of these places. Seriously.

Just another day in a fine public school……for one unlucky kid. Man I’d just wish my kids were lucky enough to go.

But that kind of thing doesn’t happen here in our schools…
…just bomb threats, and a little girl with a concussion after being beat up on a school bus etc.

I’ll be interested to see what becomes of this story and the thugs involved.
It’s also kind of scary to see the hateful racist comments attached to the article. The article doesn’t mention race at all, but maybe there is more information out there that’s sparking the comments.
It’s a shame people (of all colors) won’t act like people instead of animals. It would go a long way toward breaking down stereotypes and racism.

with this kind of thing going on in the homeschools,
it must take a lot of faith to keep them at home….
(i’ll make sure to keep an eye out for these kinds of things and we can pretend they’re emblematic of what goes on in all homeschooling situations)

Am I to understand you feel that he wouldn’t have been abusive toward his children had they gone to public school?
And certainly, if you want to trade links on news items relating to those who homeschool versus what happens daily in our public school systems, I’d be happy to oblige.
