Sounds like I might need a new umbrella. Yikes:
DNC spokesman Hari Sevugan said: “The message to opponents of change who would lie or misrepresent the truth should be clear. We are going to respond forcefully and consistently with the facts, and you will no longer be able to peddle your lies with impunity. Through tools like ‘Call ‘Em Out,’ you will be met with a rain of hellfire from supporters armed with the facts and you will be held to account.”
Anyone remember the DNC using such strong rhetoric against oh, I don’t know…say, the terrorists who murdered 3000 Americans in the 9/11 attacks? The Left really knows how to get their, er, war on when it’s their liberal agenda being challenged, at least. If only Ahmad-whatever would come out against ObamaCare! While we await this hellfire of magnificent Dem truth ‘n fact, do remember that these are the same folks whining about the ‘coarsening’ of national discourse. Why, this right wing frenzy has even gotten some worrying about violence! Sayeth the lefty hacks at Media Matters:
The radical right, aided by a GOP Noise Machine that positively dwarfs what existed in 1963, has turned demonizing Obama–making him into a vile object of disgust–into a crusade. It’s a demented national jihad, the likes of which this country has not seen in modern times. (Except when we treated George W. Bush like garbage, of course. -ed)
But I’ve been thinking about Dallas in 1963 because I’ve been recalling the history and how that city stood as an outpost for the radical right, which never tried to hide its contempt for the New England Democrat.
Ahhh, finally a jihad liberals actually care about! Click the link, and read the whole thing. Notice anything missing from his account of the events surrounding JFK’s assassination? Like, maybe, the assassin himself? Yep, Lee Harvey Oswald was such a radical right-winger that he defected to the Soviet Union, and tried to assassinate the very right-wing and strongly anti-Communist General Walker. That’s OK, though…it sort of messes up the narrative if you acknowledge that oh, by the way, the one who shot Kennedy was a known communist sympathizer. Whatever. You crazy right-wing racists, you.
In any event, I’m pretty sure hellfire hurts and stuff, so I’d stay indoors until Tim Kaine reverts back to Dr. Bruce Banner. You can spend that time trying to figure out the odd ability liberals have to hear things that aren’t actually said.
