“Now, I don’t think that ‘mental distress’ qualifies as the health of the mother. I think it has to be a serious physical issue that arises in pregnancy, where there are real, significant problems to the mother carrying that child to term.”
He is still way to pro-abortion for me, but it’s a start.

Last night I saw a story about a teen who launched an 8 month old baby* into the air with an inflatable pillow so that it landed on the floor a few feet away. He and his friend who filmed the event put it up on Youtube and now he is facing charges. Quite a few comments I read on an article about this blamed Youtube. As if people would quit doing stupid cruel things if Youtube didn’t exist.
Thanks to Youtube and the stupidity of these kids, they’ve been caught. If that video hadn’t been posted it’s very likely that no one would have ever known what took place. I think it’s great that people post videos of their criminal acts. Makes them easier to catch and convict.
*You may not want to watch the video. It’s disturbing to see a helpless baby being abused.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. She wants a mammal of some sort(like a goat, cow, horse or dog), but I don’t think Myron will approve.

Several FLDS women have started a website selling their handmade children clothing. I have a hard time thinking that this will do well, but applaud the women’s efforts to support their families.
Cynthia Martinez, a spokeswoman for Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, said that many of the 48 mothers her firm represents face financial challenges that didn’t exist when they lived at the ranch in a communal lifestyle.
“Now they are renting homes and apartments and have to figure out how to pay for that,” she said.
Although the children are back with their parents, legal counsel advised many FLDS mothers to stay away from the ranch until the CPS investigation and action is over. The sewing enterprise allows the mothers to care for their children and support themselves.

“We don’t know what to expect on demand but we have had a flood of interest,” said Maggie Jessop, a member of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
A flood of interest is much different than a flood of orders. Who’s going to order these things anyway? The style is very similar to Amish and conservative Mennonite clothing but they generally make their own. There are others out there looking for modest clothing, but I wonder if the beliefs of the FLDS will interfere with sales. There are many small home businesses specializing in modest clothing very similar to what these women are selling without the controversial views.
