What’s funnier than a southern governor joking about a black Presidential candidate being shot?
Maybe a northern Senator suggesting the black Presidential candidate could be assassinated?
Ummm… when Huckabee did it was shameless and downright disgusting and it was implied that he is a racist. So then, what does that make Hillary?
Seriously, this should serve to show that everyone is capable of offending and it isn’t always on purpose and it doesn’t mean you are a racist.

I suspect the only people alive whose remarks have not been misinterpreted are not able to speak. But it is worse for our political leaders. Both the news media and their opponents will go out of their way to cast the worse light on whatever their say.
I use to wonder how the English language survives the silly things politicians and the news media do to it. Then I realized our language does not survive. We battle with a words. We use words as weapons. With words we hack and slash until they have lost their edge. When a word has become dull, we discard it.
A thousand years from now, many if not most of the words we speak today either not have survived or they will not mean the same thing. Every day, to serve their own causes, politicians, the news media, and propagandists contort our language. And every day, so we can still communicate, we reinvent English so we can still make some sense to each other. That is why each time we debate we must begin by defining the terms of our debate.
Amen.
